When I receive an enquiry for my pet sitting advertisement, how do I communicate with the sitter?

Once a sitter applies to your listing, you can use our secure on-platform messaging system to chat, share details, and get to know them. To protect your privacy, we recommend keeping all initial communication within the platform until you are ready to finalise the arrangement.

As a homeowner, how do I make sure the pet sitter has all the required information and duties?

We recommend creating a comprehensive “Home and Pet Guide” for your sitter before you leave. This should include your pet’s feeding schedules, exercise routines, vet details, emergency contacts, and basic house rules (like watering plants or bin collection days) so your sitter is fully prepared.

How much does a subscription cost, and what does it include?

Our straightforward monthly subscription of R150.00 grants you full access to the platform. For homeowners, this means unlimited listing posts and direct contact with applicants. For sitters, it unlocks the ability to view detailed ads and apply for stays across South Africa, with a once-off R350.00 security verification. There are never any hidden placement or booking fees.

Who supplies the food and utilities during a stay?

The homeowner is responsible for providing all necessary pet food, medication, and general pet supplies for the duration of the sit. The sitter receives the accommodation with utilities (electricity and water) included, though any specific house rules regarding high-usage appliances should be discussed beforehand.

What happens if there is a medical emergency with my pet while I am away?

Before you depart, you should provide your sitter with your preferred veterinarian’s contact information and notify your vet that a sitter will be looking after your pets. Homeowners remain financially responsible for any medical care their pets may require while they are away.
